Megan Torres: Megan Torres is a sexual abuse survivor who uses any form of verse to express and cope with the flood of emotions many survivors share. After many years of struggling to find a positive outlet, most of what she writes is an attempt to break either her own inner silence or the outer, societal silence that is imposed on many survivors by their peers and by, most commonly, their perpetrators. She is a survivor of both childhood and adult sexual violence and finds a lot of freedom in group therapy and any other environment, such as the Internet, where she can share her thoughts with a group or groups of people. Ultimately, Megan believes that what helps one person must help at least two more and posts any writing, poetry or just journal entries, as an attempt to help herself and anyone else who might benefit from her expression.
